KlaasKids 12th Annual Child Safety Day
The KlaasKids Foundation for Children and the Dave Mungenast Automotive Family are hosting the 12th Annual KlaasKids Child Safety Day on Saturday, October 18, 2008. The purpose of this event is to fingerprint ID and digitally photograph as many children as possible.
In addition to giving parents a current digital photograph and fingerprints (click here for a sample of the Bio-Doc), Child Safety Day offers a do-it-yourself DNA Collection Kit, teaches emergency response and safety skills to kids, and outlines a nine-point plan on what to do if a child disappears.
KlaasKids Child Safety Day is underwritten by the Dave Mungenast Automotive Family and, with your help, is provided to the community free of charge. Last year, thanks to donations from supporters, we were able to fingerprint ID and photograph close to 900 children. We were also able to donate $6,488 directly to the KlaasKids Foundation to help further programs both locally and nationwide.
On Saturday, October 18, 2008 KlaasKids Child Safety Day will take place at the following four Dave Mungenast locations: St. Louis Honda, St. Louis Acura, Alton Toyota-Scion and North County Hyundai. We are planning a fun event for children to remember, and for parents to gain expert advice regarding child safety issues. At the event there will be food and refreshments, safety exhibits, a silent auction, local police and fire officials, and a fire truck.
To make this day a success, we are again asking for your help. The following are ways that you and your organization can contribute to this worthwhile community project:
- Co-Sponsorship: Donations made in excess of $2,000 to cover the cost and promotion of the event, with recognition given in all media formats.
- Monetary Donation: Funds cover the cost and promotion of the event, with recognition given on sponsor board present at the event at all locations (if donation is received by September 25th, 2008).
- Silent Auction Donation: Recognition is included with the donated item and on the sponsor board (if donated item is received by October 1st, 2008).
